Description:
From the Introduction by Edberto M. Villegas:
"This second volume collection of various speeches and articles of Jose Maria Sison covers the period 1995-2000, when the implementation of the so-called globalization policy of the capitalist countries, led by the United States, was made official and the flow of trade from the West to the developing regions became more aggressive. With the ensuing global liberalization of economic activities, dominated by monopoly capitalism which controls 1/3 of world trade, overproduction and the creation of bubble economies were bound to intensify due to the rapaciousness of the imperialist countries to widen their trade and export of surplus capital to the less-developed nations.
Through there are studies in this volume on the state of the struggle for national democracy in the Philippines, Sison mainly focuses on the imperialist glory days of globalization of the latter 1990's. This book can serve as an effective guide for understanding better the current financial and economic crises enveloping the world. These studies present the politico-economic framework to comprehend the recurring crises of monopoly capitalism, which at present (2009) is nearing the magnitude of the 1929 Great Depression and may even surpass it due to its faster-pace of development."
