6–7 November 2026
Version 1.7
Authors
Articles now show their author under the title, and the name a text was published under when Ka Joma used another name.
Privacy policy
The website now has a privacy policy, linked at the bottom of every page. The website does not track visitors and shows no advertising.
Searches that find nothing
When a search does not find what was asked for, we keep the words that were searched for, without any information about who searched, to see what is still missing from the archive. These records are deleted after six months.
Search
Search now finds words that stood on a line of their own, such as the place and date at the end of a statement. They had been joined to the word before them and could not be found. Very long searches are cut to 500 characters, so they can no longer slow the website down.
Repository
The interview "On the question of fascism in relation to the Duterte regime" was missing from the Repository lists because it had no year. It is now listed with the items that have no date. When a visitor asks for a title by email, the subject line shows the title as written, without codes in place of quotation marks and dashes.
Sharing
When the privacy policy or this page is shared, the link preview shows its own title instead of the name of the website.
Security
Browsers are now told to use only the secure address of the website, and other websites can no longer show its pages inside their own.
Administrators now confirm with their passkey before they install or update software on the website or change its settings and user accounts. A copy of a signed-in browser session is no longer enough to make these changes.
Faster pages
Pages now need fewer requests to the database.
Website updates
This page was added, so visitors can follow how the website changes.

Version 1.6
Messages and statements
Messages and statements by Ka Joma are now marked as such in the Repository, like his articles, interviews and speeches. Each kind can be listed on its own and has its own cover.
Version 1.5
Search
The website now has its own search engine. Results come up in a fraction of a second, with the closest matches first, and books and articles are suggested while you type. Search recognises names and acronyms such as Joma, JMS, CPP and NPA from a starting list that the Foundation is still reviewing, and it tries to correct misspellings, though not every misspelling yet. When a search finds books, they can be narrowed by type and by decade.
Advanced search
Exact phrases, OR, excluded words and searches by title, author or year now work in every search box. The new Advanced search page does all of this through a simple form.
Articles, interviews and speeches
The Repository has started to include Ka Joma's articles, interviews and speeches in full text, each on its own page with the date it was written, the books it appears in and its footnotes. This is work in progress: the first articles are published, and most are still being checked by the Foundation before they are published. They are gathered on the Repository page under "In his own words". The "Download PDF" button on these pages will work once the PDFs are ready.
Tables of contents
Tables of contents used to be part of a book's description. They now have their own section on the book page, and searching for a chapter title finds the book. Linking the chapters to the full texts of the articles has just started and covers only the articles published so far.
Repository page
The Repository page was reorganised into Essential readings, the Sison Reader Series, his shorter writings, and a bookshelf of all books by decade. Each book page also suggests related books.
Creative Commons license
All items in the Repository are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 license. They may be shared and adapted for non-commercial use, with credit.
Home page
The home page was redesigned to match the rest of the website, with a search bar and links to the Biography, the Repository and News.
Faster pages
Pages now ask much less of the server, so they load faster, especially on phones and slow connections.
Security
The accounts that manage the website now log in with passkeys instead of passwords. Passkeys cannot be stolen by fake login pages. Repeated wrong login attempts from the same place are paused, and the login page no longer reveals which accounts exist.
23–24 October 2026
Version 1.4
Repository filters
The Repository can now be filtered by category and sorted oldest or newest first. A filtered list has its own link, which can be bookmarked or shared. The Repository is also ready for items other than books, such as statements and letters.
Sharing and search engines
Pages shared on social media now show a picture and a summary, and the website can now be found through Google and other search engines.
Privacy
The website no longer loads anything from other companies' servers. Content from other websites, such as the Internet Archive book viewer and the newsletter sign-up form, only loads when a visitor chooses to open it. The cookie notice now says plainly that the website sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
Security
Comments, which were only used by spam, were switched off, together with an old remote-publishing interface (XML-RPC) that attackers use to guess passwords. The usernames of the accounts that manage the website are no longer visible anywhere public.
Version 1.3
New design
The new version of the website went live on 24 October 2026, with one design across all pages and text that is easier to read on phones.
News
The News page now shows the latest story first, with earlier news below it. Articles can be shared or their link copied.
Repository
The Repository shows the books as a bookshelf, and every book has its own page with links to buy or download it, or a way to request it from the Foundation.
Search
Search results are now ordered by relevance, and accents no longer matter, so "Jose" also finds "José".
Security updates
WordPress, which was badly out of date, was updated from version 6.7.10 to 7.1.3, and the plugins were updated or removed. The server now runs PHP 8.5 with the patch for "php2shell", a critical security flaw in PHP announced in October 2026. This also moves the website off PHP 8.2, which stops receiving security fixes at the end of 2026.
Privacy
The website's fonts are now served from our own server instead of Google's, so visiting the website no longer shares your internet address with Google.

Formal launch in Utrecht
The Foundation formally launched on 15 February 2025 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, during the month of Ka Joma's 86th birthday. At the launch, the Foundation's archivist and IT specialist presented the website and its first functions, shared the plans for its further development, and called for volunteers to help with the work.
Repository
The Repository listed Ka Joma's books in chronological order, more than 80 at the launch, with links to download or purchase most of them.
Search
The website had a basic search, the one that comes with WordPress. It found words on the site but could not rank the results well. This was a first version, and work on a better search continued.
Biography and About the Foundation
The website opened with Ka Joma's Biography and the About the Foundation page, where you can find out how to contribute to the Foundation's work.
News
The News page was set up for Foundation updates.
